THE VULNERABLE CHILDREN OF REPO VILLAGE
CHRISTMAS PARTY DECEMBER 28TH, 2014 FOR THE CHILDREN OF REPO VILLAGE COURTESY OF THE BENEFACTORS OF SOWING THE SEEDS OF LOVE-MALAWI
GOD WITH US REVIVAL PRAYER MEETING REPO VILLAGE DECEMBER 20TH, 2014
OPEN DAY EVENT AT REPO VILLAGE-MALAWI
On the 13th of December was an open day for Sowing the seeds of love projects in Malawi. This event was very important as it sells the project to people who may be able to buy the idea and help here and there in running it. The event was held yesterday and the Guest of honor was Honorable Peter Bvalani, members of Parliament for Zomba Likangala constituency, in which Repo village is. The event started at 8:30 after the arrival of the guest of honor. It started by women showing and explaining to the guest of honor how they bake, how they are learning to sew, and one of the orphans Linda explaining how she is benefiting from the chickens we gave her and her brothers and sisters. Then we went to speeches and some plays the community had prepared to show case.
In his speech Honorable Peter Bvalani asked me to thank the team here on his behalf. "Let me ask Mr Njewa to tell the team in US and a lady in Canada, thanks for this wonderful project in one of the villages in my constituency". He promised to help the project expand to other villages. "We have the Local development fund, I will give a form to the director Mr Njewa to fill it and I will authorize payment to the project once that is done" "this is a great project, but Mr Njewa and his team here in Malawi ought to strategics on what to put in every village, we can't put a bakery in every village, there will be great rivalry for market among the villages" "most of the challenges you have mentioned Mr Njewa, I can't help them all, but we will try to solve others with the Local development fund"
In a gist it was such a great day and I can see more doors opening for Sowing the seeds of Love-Malawi Project.

Sewing For An Abundant New Way of Life Workshops
We are in the process of creating sewing/tailoring workshops to teach single mothers and teenage orphans head of families a trade so they can support themselves and their families. Many of the single moms have lost their partners either through death or abandoned by their children's fathers. The teenage orphans head of families have lost their parents due to illness.
We've received a donation towards our first sewing machine we are in need of more funds to buy more and materials for the workshops i.e. scissors, thread, cloth, etc. and for maintenance of the machinery. There are a few similar non profit organizations in Malawi offering similar workshops and giving the students a new life.. The trade school will be made into a co-op system where the articles made by the students will be sold and half of the earnings will be put back into the trade school to buy more materials and machinery and the other half will be given to the students to support themselves.
The sewing machines are anywhere between $47,000 to 52,000 Mwk approximately between $120 to $130 USD depending on the exchange rate as it fluctuates daily. We will also need funds to get all the materials for the workshops and extra to keep the machinery running in good order.
|
Thanks to the generous donation of an anonymous benefactor we have bought our first sewing machine for the Sewing/Tailor workshops. We need more funds to make our dream our reality and buy more machines.

Sowing the Seeds of Love-Malawi Bakery
To help single moms and orphan teenage girls head of families even further, we are also in the process of building a bakery using brick ovens. To start the bakery we will need approximately $450 US Dollars. So far we have raised $200.00 US Dollars. At the moment there are over 27 single/widowed moms who are benefiting from this project. This will also be a co-op project where a percent of the funds will go back into the bakery and the other percent will go towards the moms in order for them to be able to support themselves.
SOME OF THE IMMEDIATE PROJECTS WE NEED FUNDS FOR
We are planning to raise nanny goats for milk to help orphan kids and their families. Eventually when we have enough goats we will make cheese and sell it to help with our projects.
Another idea we have in mind is to make an adobe brick oven and make bread and other baking goods to sell to make Sowing the Seeds of Love-Malawi self sufficient. We will be sending Chisomo an sd card with videos and info with recipes to help with this project.
We also want to make solar cookers for all the families in repo village in the near future.
We already have had made boxes for bee hives. All we need is the protective clothing and the bees to start them. The protective hat can be made from mosquito netting and bee keepers would just need thick garden gloves and thick long sleeve shirts, overalls and boots. Bees would provide honey, beeswax for candle making and bee propolis for medicine and would bring income to the community. Some of the orphans could be taught how to be bee keepers and would benefit in the earnings of anything made with this project.
Eventually we want to make a trade school in the same facilities as the daycare either in the afternoons and/or weekends and get volunteers to teach all sorts of trades (cooking, sewing, welding, etc.) to the orphans of repo village so they can generate money. We would need local volunteers and equipments. The first trade would be to teach the girls (orphans) making bread and other baking goods so they could help with the bakery.
We also looking into raising pigeons and quails as they are easy to grow and have a great market in Zomba, Malawi.
Fish farming is also a project we would like to look into. There is a pond already in Repo Village that we could expand and raise fish for the village and to sell. However we need funds in order to start all these projects we have in mind so that Repo Village and the Orphan Children and their families can be self sufficient. We can make all this happen with God's help.
PLEASE DONATE SO WE CAN MAKE THESE PROJECTS A REALITY

Different activities the children do from 8 am till 11 in the morning
Today's the first day for the children who showed up at the new Sowing the Seeds of Love Maternal/Daycare School. And there is a lot of work to do but with God's help we will succeed.
Porridge being cooked by a volunteer for the children for their morning snack.
Children at the maternal daycare eating porridge made by two volunteer mothers. Every day two mothers come and clean the building, make the meals and feed the children — in Malawi. All the plates of porridge lined up ready to be served to all the children at the maternal daycare — in Malawi.
Visit From Julie Goedhuys. Julie Goedhuys is a graduate student from Belgium who is doing her internship at YOCE youth center, Malawi, Africa. She spent the day playing and having fun with the children at Repo Village and Our babies at "Sowing the Seeds of Love Maternal-Daycare" It was a joyous time for everyone involved.
Another Orphan in Need
Update: We took Lameck to the doctors thanks to the generous donation of one of our benefactors and his wound was getting better, praise God. So we are very happy and relieved with the doctor's report.
Lameck who was abandoned by his older brother because his wife never wanted this boy in her eyes. His parents had passed away. He was badly treated by his brother's in-laws and was given a wound. His brother's mother-in-law hit him with a knife. he has not known love only pain and rejection. The wound looks festered and rotting and may be gangrened or cancer now. We are not doctors as he needs medical attention or he may lose his foot or worst his life due to septicemia. Chisomo reported the matter to police but unfortunately Lameck never showed up at the police station. One of our anonymous benefactors is sending $25 so that Chisomo takes him to the doctors. We do not know what the outcome will be or if it will be enough. We have tried endlessly to get volunteers and more donations on facebook and so far only 3 souls have come to our aide. We are waiting for donations at the end of the month from another lady from Malawi.
One of our volunteers artist Crooked Arrow has been writing all sorts of emails out to different organizations in the hopes that one of them will respond to our call, so far no answers. She is also donating her art to raise funds for the project.

Update on Praise: Praise is doing better and she is thriving on the milk from the goats we bought thanks to the generous contributions of our benefactors. We hope that our goats will be a blessing to other orphan children in the future.
Praise Kaombe she is an orphan at one month of age. Her mother died after some complications due to an infected wound. She was delivered by emergency C-Section. The baby is now in custody of her grandmother. Unfortunately the father of the child left and has never come back and nobody knows where he is. The grandmother has been diluting the child's formula Lactogen and can no longer afford to buy it, as formula in Malawi is very expensive $1600 Malawi Kwacha/Dollar, which is approximately $5 US dollars each. The average person makes $1 a day, that is $30 a month. She would need at least 3 cans a week to give her proper nourishment to thrive. We came up with the idea of trying raw goat's milk, which has been used to feed children with cow's milk allergies. check the link on goat's milk. The alternative would be to put the baby in an orphanage. This would break our hearts as there are thousands of children in orphanages in Malawi and who have lost their parents to a terrible disease.
We bought a nanny goat to provide milk for Praise. This nanny goat will not only help Praise but other orphan children in need who are suffering the loss of their mother just like Praise. We are going to raise goats for this purpose and once we have more goats we will start making cheese in order to provide an income to help the orphan children in Repo Village, Malawi, Africa. We have already set a committee who will be taking care of and raising the goats. This committee will also make sure that Praise is provided with the milk she needs on a daily basis as there is no refrigeration or electricity.
Praise also has this disease that plagues many children in Malawi. Her mom died because of the complications of the disease as she had no immunity to fight off the infection that killed her. Out of fear and was not taking her medication and flushing it down the toilet out house, so she passed it on to Praise in the uterus. Now Praise is on the same medications to extend her life. Recently she was in the hospital due to pneumonia. Due to the added stress of her granddaughter being in the hospital her grandmother ended up also hospitalized with high blood pressure. Praises grandmother is a window with no income who still has a teenage daughter going to school. Before Praise was born, the grandmother traded her labor for food on a farm. She would work long hours rain or shine in order to support her family. Now she can no longer work as she is not well and has to take care of her granddaughter which is a full time job.
Praise's doctors have approved the use of goats milk as long as she has no issues. We are very happy about this, it is a great step forward. We received a donation from one of our benefactors that will help supply Praise and her grandma with their immediate needs as grandma was hospitalized also with high blood pressure. As you know they are both out of the hospital, however, we will still need of more donations to help this family out as Grandma cannot work due to her health problems and taking care of her granddaughter. There is also another teenage in the family, daughter of the grandma who is going to school.

Successful story of Sowing the Seeds of Love-Malawi
After the sales of the cabbages, all the cabbages we managed to raise about Mk25000.00 about $60 and because we had a problem of irrigation after I had written African windmills and discovered that their services are very expensive 900,000 kwacha for a windmill $3000, we finally resorted to a treadal pump which we got at 20,000 kwacha $50, The treadal pump will save us a great deal Also picture of our tomato plants.

Back in January we gave 12 chickens to 6 orphan families. These are the success stories
Orphan families received also for Xmas gifts chickens. Kondwani receiving his gift. He has got a sister whom he looks after. I believe that some time when " Sowing the seeds of love" gets some funding we will be able to build a children's home for these kids. Dickens and his brothers receiving their two chickens. These chickens will provide them with food ( meat and eggs), income when they sell, and manure for their vegetables and herbs. Thanks to Lawrence Hoppis and his family for their support. Receiving the chickens on behalf of the children he looks after. He is too old, and his legs can not move but he looks after 5 orphans who were not at home the time we were giving the chickens. Lawrence. Thank you. Kondwani's chicken with her babies, we will be posting more :) These are the doors of Kondwani and Dickens respectively. You also may wish to know that the change I had for each door we managed to get the houses some windows for ventilation unlike before there were no windows for each house.

Mzimbe/Sugarcane
This is the time people get together, kids get together to chew some Mzimbe. It may look simple to pill the outer shell of the sugar cane but trust me you can break your teeth if you are new to the culture.
Sugar cane are in the grass family and chewing them raw has got so many benefits....
. Most people here in Repo village and the sorrounding areas being a remote area, have no access to tooth brushes and toothpastes, therefore chewing sugar cane is a natural way of brushing teeth, the only problem being that sugar canes are not there all year round.
◾Sugarcane, being low on glycemic index, helps keep the body fit and healthy.
◾Sugarcane juice has been found to be very beneficial for preventing as well as treating sore throat, cold and flu.
◾Since sugarcane has no simple sugar, it can be enjoyed by diabetics without any fear. However, they intake should still be limited for people suffering from type-2 diabetes.
◾Being alkaline in nature, sugarcane juice helps the body in fighting against cancer, especially prostate and breast cancer.
◾Sugarcane provides glucose to the body, which is stored as glycogen and burned by the muscles, whenever they require energy. Therefore, it is considered to be one of the best sources of energy.
◾If you have been exposed to heat and physical activity for too long, drink sugarcane juice. It will help hydrate the body quickly.
◾Sugarcane is believed to strengthen stomach, kidneys, heart, eyes, brain, and sex organs.
◾Sugarcane juice is an excellent substitute for aerated drinks and cola.
◾Sugarcane clears the urinary flow and also helps the kidney to perform its functions smoothly.
◾Sugarcane juice has been found to be good for those who are suffering from febrile disorders. Febrile disorders are responsible for causing fevers, which can result in a great amount of protein loss from the body. Liberal consumption of sugar cane juice provides the necessary protein and other food elements to the body.
◾Sugarcane is beneficial for micturation, caused due to high acidity, along with genorrhoea, enlarged prostate, cyctitis and nepthritis. Mixing sugarcane juice with lime juice, ginger juice and coconut water will give better results.
◾Sugarcane juice is said to speed up the recovery process after jaundice.
◾As sugarcane consists of carbohydrates, in good quantities, it serves to refresh and energize the body. It supplies instant energy to working muscles and for this reason, it is also known to maximize performance in sports and endurance.
◾Sugarcane is also good for digestion, as it can effectively work as a mild laxative because of its high potassium content.
◾It lowers body cholesterol- both LDL and triglyceride
Lastly chewing sugar canes is good in when it is done with a group of friends or family. It is a way of unity and time to share so sweet stories as the sugar canes are also sweet. As you can see in the pictures kids are having fun chewing sugarcane. Chisomo is also having to chew some as some he puts on his shoulder for the family at home. Some people sale sugarcane to have income so as to cover some needs in their lives.
Till next time, we will meet "Kokudya mzimbe" (when chewing sugar cane)

Most kids in Malawi have so much passion for pets unlike adults. The pets are numerous kinds. but I had never ever thought that a guinea pig could be a pet. Guinea pigs are currently classified under the order "rodentia". However, there is some debate going on as some people believe guinea pigs should be in a separate order (the way rabbits - formerly also rodentia - are now classified as lagomorphs). It is possible that in the future piggies and their closest relatives may be removed from rodentia and classed as something else.

Sowing the seeds of love Report for August to December 2013.
Introduction: In this report we will look at how and when the project started, what have we achieved, what are the challenges and what do we plan to achieve and how do we plan to achieve them.
Background: Sowing the seeds of love was started by a group of friends on Facebook.
It was on 1st August 2013 and it was Angela Jonas' birthday, and my gesture of saying happy birthday to her inbox saw us starting the Sowing the seeds of love pilot project in Repo Village. The village is in Zomba district Tradition Authority (TA) Mwambo. This area is a disaster risk area, and when disasters come the first impacts are hunger, diseases and shelter. Sowing the seeds of love was born to provide sustainable solutions to the communities and families of Repo village, by teaching them to grow more food,. Our main concern is growing seeds that will yield food in a short period of time, teaching them preservation and canning so have food for the future, growing medicinal plants, preserving nature by planting more fruit trees which will do two things, remedy deforestation and feed them at the same time. And our goals to also reduce deforestation by the introduction of solar cookers for cooking and looking at other alternative methods of building homes to avoid using wood. Our goal is to help Repo Village find solutions to make sturdy and safe homes that are eco friendly and that would withstand natural disasters. Lawrence Hoppi brought to our attention one such project in Malawi called “Earthship Project, check the link website for more information on the Project:
http://earthship.com/malawi-africa
There three of us in the administration of the pilot project. Angela Jonas from Canada and Denver Davis from USA who mostly help with internet administration of the website, group and fan pages. Chisomo Njewa from Malawi, looks at the project implementation and with his phone,he updates Angela and Denver with pictures of the progress of the project in Repo village. Achievements: Since we started the project in August this year, our achievements have been numerous and we thank God for being on our side. The following are the achievements of Sowing the seeds of love: -Creation of a website, group and a fan page on Facebook -After a fan page was created I posted a story of a disabled gentleman called Moses Chamba. This brought the attention of a donor who provided the funds to acquire a tr i-cycle to ease his mobility problems. Imagine being disabled in a disaster risk area. God bless the donor who gave from the little she had to help Moses. Refer to our website for more pictures of Moses. -
A seed donation campaign was launched on our fan page on Facebook, which saw us receiving a lot seeds from donors, some individuals and some companies from which those donors who donated bought from them seeds. We have received seed donations from Eurasia company, Lawrence Hoppis and his family, a lady from Algeria sent palm seeds, and two ladies who opted to be anonymous.
Apart from seed donations, we also have been donated rosaries, Our lady of Grace soccer ball, first aide kit, 4 reflectors for solar cookers and two statues of our lady and our lord. -with the good relationship that is there with chief repo, we have managed to secure land for the project. -most of the seeds that had been sent to us have been received and planted in the designed nursery and some have already germinated and are ready for transplanting. - we have distributed mosquito nets to 30 households in Repo Village thanks to a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. Most of the beneficiaries for the nets have been households headed by teenagers (because they are orphans), pregnant women and the elderly. -we have created rosary prayer groups, two of them, one for the elderly, one for the kids which we call Our lady of grace soccer team. - we have managed to teach the community on how to preventive measures and treatment using natural remedies to treat themselves from diseases like Cholera, Trachoma, Chicken pox and Malaria. We distributed flyers from door to door campaign, teaching them and giving them Chichewa copies of flyers explaining how they can prevent themselves from the aforesaid mentioned diseases. This was courtesy of Angela Jonas. -we also have done a household survey for the whole village. In this survey we found out that there are 107 households in Repo village and out of the 107, 8 households are run by teenagers, 2 households are run by very old ladies. There are 27 orphans of which most of them their parents died of HIV& AIDS related complications. Two of the orphans mothers died in child birth.
In the survey did we also discovered that most girls get into marriage at the age of 13, this is due to cultural beliefs in the area. As a result poverty affects the children born to such circumstances and plus there is a higher risk that the young mothers who are children themselves will die in childbirth.
-Christmas party for the kids of Repo village, thanks to all those who donated. Lawrence Hoppis and family donated $50 dollars intended for the Christmas party but its going to be used to buy chickens, twenty chickens, which will be given to the orphan children's homes. We received $150 dollars from a lady who opted to be anonymous, $90 dollars went for the party, $20 dollars went to buying cement for the grotto, $30 dollars went to the buying of candy and baking a cake for the kids Christmas party. $19.87 dollars came from a lady from German, Heike Emanuella Jackoscus, this also went to the party. It was one of the greatest parties ever. Thanks to everyone's contributions and for putting a smile on a child. We had an auction courtesy of Crooked Arrow but nobody offered to buy, we are still so thankful to Crooked Arrow for her offer. "We can do no greater things, only small things with great love." Mother Teresa. -
Our lady of Grace statue and Our Lord Statue finally have their home in Repo village. Challenges of Repo village: As already alluded to in the background, Repo village finds itself in a disaster risk area of which its challenges are so many. - Malaria. The area is close to Lake Chilwa. This lake has no outlet. A lot of mosquitoes are breeding in this lake. Mosquitoes are agents of Malaria which mainly affect children. The solution would to prevent mosquito bites and also to provide remedies of how to treat a Malaria outbreak. Eating red onions plus lots of garlic takes the fever away, it is the fever that debilitates the body and can end in death. -Cholera is also one of the greatest challenges in the area and most people have died of it. Cholera is deadly, it can kill within minutes, and it spreads like wildfire if not careful. In order to avoid these deadly outbreaks we need to teach on prevention which is the key of saving lives. ORS, this is some warm water mixed with sugar and salt, this solution should constantly be given to a Cholera patient to keep the patient hydrated as a lot of bodily fluids are lost due to diarrhoea. Another solution is to boiling rice, take the water used in boil the rice mix it with sugar and salt and give the patient, the rice solution which stops the diarrhoea. -HIV/AIDS. This has claimed a lot of lives of so many and leaving many orphaned children. It still continues to claim a number of lives, the most vulnerable being women and children. In November, there were 14 pregnant women in Repo Village and 7 of the 14 had been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and are on ART, imagine this. Moringa tree can be a remedy for this disease, ARV treatments are very expensive and they are getting be too much of a burden in the government's budget, and as such the government is planning to stop subsidizing the drug, this is going to be a disaster. So Moringa tree can be a good remedy at this time as it works exactly as ARVs. What needs to be done are campaigns educate people to create awareness how HIV spreads and the distribution of condoms. Education is the key to eradicating the devastating disease that continues to spread.
-Poverty. This is also a very big challenge in the community. Most people are very poor and have no means of generating an income. Therefore they lack most basic items for good health and better living.
-Education. This is a very vital element for a community to develop. When one is educated, he or she understands things better and faster. Most people in Repo Village are not educated as a result their understanding of things leaves a lot to be desired. Most of what they produce is substandard, hence they are poor and not developing. While on education, it is believed that when you educate a girl child, you educate the world. Girls are the most vulnerable as far as education is concerned, they are forced into marriages they never planned due to cultural beliefs and also problems (ek poverty, being orphaned).
Challenges of the project: The challenges of the community above are also challenges of the project of which we want to address as an organization, hence in "sowing the seeds of love" we are growing herbs to address the diseases mentioned above, we are getting into door to door campaign in awareness of how to prevent and treat the diseases above, in short we are really trying to provide solutions to the community 's challenges as alluded to in our achievements. But as we are trying to do that we also face some challenges as a project or organization.
Finances. The project so far has been going on thanks to the donations of well wishers on Facebook. We would love to do more but we are limited because of finances. What we need are organizations that believe in our cause and that are willing so we can expand. We have distributed 30 mosquito nets, but we could distributed to more families in need. We greatly that we were able to help 30 families in need the most vulnerable. We hope to one day in the near future have more funds in order to help Repo Village be self sufficient. Repo Village our pilot project. One day we would like to see many villages in Malawi be self sufficient as well.
Capacity building. I have learned quite a lot from Angela Jonas, through the research she has done online, but experience is a better teacher. All who are involved in this project need some training on organic farming, herbs and healthier living and emergency preparedness, from experts in these areas.
Sometimes cultural exchange programs can be a good solution to these problem. I pray for the time when we will have students and experts from Canada , USA and other parts of the World to so we can acquire hands on experience from them. They would teach the community of Repo village the art of being self sufficient. These types of programs are not new, I have seen it happening in other areas of Africa funded by different organization. While on capacity building, there is need for a computer, internet and a printer. I have so many e-books manuals from Angela Jonas through her research online that are guidelines on how to create a self sufficient community. We need to download and print them and eventually get them translated into our local language so they can be used to educate the village. This is very important and we hope to be able to do this very soon.
We do our best to upload pictures and share with all of you the different projects we have been involved with in the village as I do believe in accountability and transparency.
Registration. We were not yet registered as an non profit organization, but hopefully by next year 2014, January we will be registered courtesy of a Lady who will provide the registration fees. We hope this will instill trust in our donors as there is lots of scam on the internet nowadays.
Weather: Most of the seeds that we planted in the nursery have germinated but weather has not been favourable enough for transplanting. The river we used to depend on for watering the plants dried up due to high temperature and no rain. Despite these problems and thanks to God almighty, wee have not lost any plants.
Workload: Its only me as the over sear and direct link to the committee I have formed in the village. I have tried to convince other young people my age to join me in this project but to no avail. I think it is very common everywhere that most young people only want comforts of city life, money, the latest gadget and just to be involved in their social life. Anyway, I don't mind, I call myself a village boy. I am a natural multitasker and leader, but sometimes due to the lack of help, the projects may seem very slow in taking off. I pray that in the future more young people will want to join the project once it is a non profit organization and we have more funding. Perhaps if there was some sort of incentive for them they might be more ready to join in.
The economy. The economy in Malawi has gone from bad to worst. You cannot predict what the prices commodities will be from one day to the next as they constantly fluctuate. This has had an impact in planning and budgeting for items we needed to buy and events. I may quote for a price today for particular items for a project awaiting for the funds of a donar and few days later the prices have gone up. This is very frustrating for me and the donor because we end up having to buy less items which are much needed by the recipient families. I hope collectively we can solve these challenges. I pray to God to bless all those who donated to the project by giving them more abundance in their lives.
Our future plans: A self sufficient Repo village. To achieve our plans in micro green (in progress) To achieve our plans in have beehives (not yet started, hopefully to start next year February) To distribute chickens as livestock to Orphaned households ( starting from next year 6th of January). This has been made possible by the Lawrence Hoppis family. Every household will receive two chickens, one male, one female. This is a bigger step into creating a self sufficient society because the chickens will multiply, will provide food, be a source of income, and will provide manure for their vegetable gardens. We also plan to provide the orphan families with seeds so they can also feed themselves. Remember Sowing the seeds of love is for organic farming. These type of chickens are not difficult to feed, they are free range type chickens and they multiply fast. We would also like every household to start using solar cookers made from metallic foldable reflective shades, We hope to get this project going by March 2014. To plan plant mango trees in January 2014 courtesy of a Lady from United States. We hope the rains will be favourable by then as there has been a drought affecting the maize plants and general cultivations in the area.
We'd also like to have a children's home for all the orphans in the village, where they would be taught skills to survive and at the same time guide them in the faith as our goal is not only to feed the hungry but also feed the spirit by spreading the Word of God. We are praying God will send us more donors who will be as enthusiastic as we are so we can achieve all our dreams and goals. The Children's home would have a kitchen, a hostel, a library, a recreation centre, a workshop (where we'd teach them skills like carpentry, welding, textiles, building etc). They would learn to grow their own food and have their own livestock. We would like to bring solar energy to our projected Repo Village Orphanage so they can have electricity and provide them with a few computers with internet to better their education. Eventually we would like the whole of Repo Village to have electricity through solar energy. I can just imagine these orphans living together as a family and at the same time being self sufficient and having new skills for a better tomorrow. This project has has no date, as we are relying on God to give us the funds to make this project a reality.
Thanks to the Courtesy of Crooked Arrow Jackson we will be distributing very soon toys to all the children of Repo Village in January 2014. The items about two hundred pieces are on their way from USA. We will also are looking for ways to provide each child with t-shirts. Thanks for this wonderful gesture of upholding human dignity. Breaking the Bread and drinking the wine is also amongst our plans for the future in order to unite the community and spread the gospel and do God's work. This is a spiritual event to be done by the community with facilitation from Chisomo Njewa. This is what the community wants. They want to enhance their spiritual life. This is courtesy of Denver Davis. It was will go hand in hand with the Rosary prayer groups. Our aime is to create more rosary prayer groups, not only in Repo villages but all over Malawi. There is also a plan to help Gladys and her son who are epileptics acquire the medical help they need for their condition. We also hope to achieve this by next year 2014. We have so many plans to and goals to achieve, and with God's intervention and help we hope to achieve them.
Once again, I would like to thank every body who has helped our project and I would like to ask all of you to support our efforts either by donations, prayers, expertise, ideas to help us achieve our goals, we don't anything for granted, all help is a blessing. May the good Lord bless you abundantly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2014 to all of you.

ONE OUR VISITS TO REPO VILLAGE
Village of Repo in Malawi
Sowing the Seeds of Love Project is a Pilot Project to help the Village of Repo in Malawi become more self sufficient
Malawi is a small landlocked country in sub-Saharan Africa. Malawi has an estimated population of 14 million. Over 40 percent of the population live on less than US$1 per day
MALAWI DISASTER REPORT
MALAWI DISASTER STATS
MALAWI DISASTER PIE
Inhabitants in Malawi are ill prepared for disasters and epidemics. Emergency disaster preparedness management should be imparted to all communities to avoid the spread of diseases and to minimize casualties. Every community in Malawi should have a committee that will insure the safety of all it's inhabitants. Education in Preparedness is the key for solutions to these problems.
This is one of the villages in Malawi. All the homes are made of materials that do not withstand natural disaster like flooding, storms or earth quakes — in Malawi, Africa.
Many homes in his community are not designed to withstand natural disasters. Money is needed needed to solve the problem and maker safer homes — at Malawi, Africa.
This house lost it's roof due to a very bad storm. People in Malawi need to have infrastructures that will ensure safe habitats to live in and protect them from natural disasters. The government does the best they can to help all the inhabitants of their country.
People in Malawi have to make due with the resources they have at their disposal, they do not have a choice as the as the inhabitants are very poor.
Jali Market in Malawi, basic staple food is expensive. 40% of the population get less than $1 a day. That is less than $30 dollars a month.
Malawi is really blazing hot. Women at the market (Jali Market) selling tomatoes and egg plants have no choice but to use umbrellas for shelter.
ONIONS A BASIC STAPLE
This is onion at a market. Onions are expensive for most people in Repo Village. What does this mean? It means that most people in Repo Village are being denied the nutrients found in crops like these.
