THEMED PARTIES
Everybody loves a great excuse to dress up in outrageous outfits and donate money to a good cause!
KARAOKE EVENING
Ask a local pub or bar to host one for you and charge people to get in or take part. Advertise around town and invite lots of your friend and family. Bars often sponsor bar tabs and prizes for the karaoke night as it will encourage people to come to their bar for the evening.
GARAGE SALE
Everyone has junk that needs to be disposed of. Collect your friends, families and neighbors’ belongings to use in your garage sale. A garage sale is great place to have a bake sale which adds to the profits. Market the sale in your local paper to increase customers.
CAR WASH
You can have a car wash, contact a local place in a hot spot for their parking lot and get some friends/family to do $5 a car.
ASK FOR DONATIONS INSTEAD OF PRESENTS
Christmas is the best time of the year to make a wish list. Ask family and friends for a donation instead of a presents.
ORGANIZE A TEA PARTY
Have an English tea party. Invite all your friends friends and their friends, bake some goods and finger sandwiches, ask them to donate ten dollars towards it instead of bringing anything.
GET A PART TIME JOB
Get a part time job and donate your earnings.
CONTACT SCHOOLS OR YOUR LOCAL CHURCH
Get in touch with the schools you went to or your local church. They usually raise money for a worthy causes every year.
CASUAL FRIDAY
Convince your boss at work to have a Casual Friday, where everyone that donates to your cause can dress down for the day.
JEWELERY
Get creative. Design and produce your own jewelry for sale.
BAKE SALE
Have your own stall at your local farmers market or a well frequented public spot. Sometimes retail stores will be happy to have a booth set up nearby. Find festivals, special events like street fairs, outdoor public concerts, and other big public events. You can also have a bake sale in front of your home. These are all excellent choices. Make sure that it is legal to hold it at the spot of your choice, and get permission from local authorities. Get your friends and family to help prepare the goods and with all the preparations. Be sure you have an "indoor site' or a tent in case it rains. Organize yourself and have your booth or table ready. You will also need:
- Folding tables.
- Tablecloths
- Balloons, decorations and signs to grab attention.
- Coolers with ice to keep items like drinks cold.
- Garbage bags for cleanup.
- Folding chairs.
- Thermoses to keep items like coffee or hot chocolate warm.
- A Cash box. Be sure it has change for large bills!
