WHO WE ARE
SOWING THE SEEDS OF LOVE-MALAWI is a NGO non profit organization registered and based in Malawi, Africa.
Sowing the Seeds of Love is entirely volunteer-based. We are heart-centered individuals, and not part of any corporation, church organization or non-profit agency.
WHAT WE DO
Our volunteers give of their own money along with 100% of all donations going directly to meet orphan and community needs at Repo Village.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Proverb: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Our mission is to promote and help provide the tools and technology for a sustainable integrated community development in Repo Village through the improvement of food security and better life conditions. We are also committed to helping the most vulnerable inhabitants which are orphan children, unwed and widowed mothers by giving them the tools and opportunities to learn a trade enabling them to support themselves and their families.
OUR GOALS
To continue helping with the development, education, tools and technology to help Repo Village grow a reliable food source until they are no longer in need of donations and assistance to succeed.
Finishing our bakery project which will provide income to over 27 vulnerable families, which include unwed and widowed mothers as well as orphan children head of their families.
Building a trade school so that orphans, unwed and widowed mothers will receive vocational training courses in tailoring, welding, bicycle repair, baking, carpentry and other trades so they're able to support themselves and their families
Beginning of a Bee-Keeping Sustainability Project that will provide income by selling honey and beeswax.
Beginning of a Pigeon Sustainability Project - purchasing pigeons, building cages, buying feed, to raise pigeons for food, pigeon droppings for fertilizer, and selling them to help orphans, single and widowed mothers and their families support themselves.
Permaculture Project to grow carp - which is a fast-growing, omnivorous fish and a sustainable answer to self-sufficiency and food production.
The acquisition and implementation of solar lights to provide a safe alternative to kerosene lamps.
The acquisition and distribution of mosquito nets to protect against mosquito causing diseases.
To provide education on sexually transmittable diseases like HIV and HPV in order to bring down the percentage of orphaned children in Repo Village.
To continue to provide good care and nutritional breakfasts to children assisting our daycare
To create, help and assist with any other projects that will create sustainable living and income and improve the lives of the inhabitants of Repo Village
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are looking to grow our mailing list and volunteer-base, and have promotional and volunteer packages available for interested candidates.
We have full donation use accountability and welcome inquiries. Donations may be made for general use or designated for orphanage construction or given for any other area. Please tell us about yourself, your vision and ideas for helping the orphans and other vulnerable children and their families in Repo Village. We need volunteers to help us with fundraising, media, production, getting the word out and much more.
